Frequently Asked Questions
Why do I have to go in for prevention/periodic visits?
It is proven that the best treatment is prevention! Especially for children. For adults, the best prevention is the periodic visit (every 6 months)
Why is cosmetic dentistry so important?
When you are satisfied with your smile, you are happier and more confident.
Does Dr. Adriana take “before and after” pictures?
Sure! These pictures are excellent for recording purposes, as well as for the patient to visualize (besides feeling) the benefits of the treatment.
What age range are Dr. Adriana’s patients in?
The majority of her patients are adults, between 30 and 80 years old.
When and why should look for a dentist?
Every six months, for periodic revision and prevention. Remember, your health begins in your mouth and prevention is the best treatment. Preserving your natural teeth, you can chew correctly and consequently, have a better digestion. After all, the process of digestion starts in the mouth.
Why do gums bleed?
The main cause is dental plaque, which builds up after each meal. If plaque is not removed carefully every day, it keeps building up. With time, gum irritation develops, causing bleeding.
Which are the best toothbrush and the best toothpaste?
Nowadays there is a large variety of dental products to choose from. Don’t buy just any product based on low price or advertising alone. Always consult your dentist before you buy, so you don’t end up using a product that degrades your teeth, or that is inadequate for your mouth.
Do implants cause rejection?
No! Dental implants are made of titanium, a metal which, because of its “inert” nature, has been used for nearly forty years in hip replacements. Titanium causes no adverse reactions in human tissue, and when it is commercially pure, no allergic reactions.
Can I trust Immediate Load Implants (ready in one day)?
To do an immediate load implant, certain criteria have to be met. There has to be adequate bone, a large enough implant needs to be placed, and the implant once placed has to be able to resist at least 40 ncm of force. Not every patient can receive this treatment, but if there is a proper recommendation, yes, you can trust it.
My partner snores. Is there a treatment for this condition?
Yes. Today we can detect, after appropriate tests, if a patient can use certain dental appliances to end this condition. In several cases, treating snoring can save relationships!
